This video explores a love story defined by distance — one that stays just out of reach, set against the rhythm of the city. Through a mix of stop-motion, traditional animation, live-action, and After Effects, we follow two characters moving through the same world — one quietly watching, the other unaware. It’s about longing, missed connection, and the spaces in between.
The track’s sparse lyric — “I can hear you” — became the seed for the narrative. We built a loose, lyrical story around it, leaning into mood and movement over plot. There’s no resolution, just pursuit. Just a quiet ache.
We approached this video as a celebration of animation itself — layering techniques, textures, and styles to mirror the emotional complexity of the song. The primary color palette (red, yellow, blue), childlike and bold, contrasts with the quiet, more mature tone of the story — making the tension between innocence and emotional distance part of the visual language.
Created in collaboration with DJ Jake Stewart of 1800_GIRLZ, this piece is a love letter to both music and motion.
